The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Becker County in northwestern Minnesota...

* Until 600 PM CDT.

* At 503 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over southern
  White Earth Nation, or 15 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes, moving
  southeast at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Northern Toad Lake, southwestern Many Point Lake, Osage, Pine
  Point, Wolf Lake, Ponsford, and Snellman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

If on or near area lakes within eastern Becker County, get away from
the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning
can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move
to safe shelter now!  Do not be caught on the water in a
thunderstorm.
