* Special Marine Warning for...

  Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 NM...
  New York Harbor...
  Long Island South Shore Bays...

* Until 145 AM EDT.

* At 1250 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
  waterspouts were located along a line extending from Port Monmouth
  to near Sandy Hook Reef to near Entrance to New York Harbor, moving
  northeast at 30 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

  Sandy Hook Bay and Entrance to New York Harbor around 1255 AM EDT.
  Lower New York Harbor and Rockaway Inlet around 100 AM EDT.
  The Verrazano Narrows Bridge around 105 AM EDT.
  Barnum Island, Island Park, and Jamaica Bay around 110 AM EDT.
  Jones Beach, Jones Inlet, Middle Bay, and Upper New York Harbor
  around 115 AM EDT.
  East Bay around 120 AM EDT.
  South Oyster Bay around 125 AM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, high waves, lightning, and heavy rain
are expected with these storms. If caught on the open water stay
below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
