These showers will come to an end this evening as surface high pressure looks to build into the area from the northern Plains. This surface ridge of high pressure will remain in control through the day tomorrow through Saturday. this will make for some very comfortable temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 70s Friday and Saturday with lows in the 50s tonight and tomorrow night. Saturday night into Sunday, the surface ridge will slide east of the area with the region under northwest flow aloft. A shortwave riding on northwest flow late Saturday night into Sunday will bring the next for showers and perhaps a thunderstorms however, severe weather is not expected. Temperatures will remain below normal on Sunday with showers and cloud cover holding highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s. Another shortwave is progged to move through the local area in northwest flow Sunday night into Monday bringing another chance for showers. Highs Monday are expected to remain in the mid 70s to near 80. The pattern looks to remain active during the middle portion of next week. By Tuesday, a upper level ridge over the eastern Rockies will move over the local ridge with the area under the northern periphery of the ridge. Upper level shortwave round this upper ridge will bring the chance for a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday through Wednesday night. Thursday a upper level trough will dig through the Upper Midwest flattening the ridge and bringing one final chance of showers and thunderstorms.
