* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  South central Cherry County in north central Nebraska...
  Eastern Grant County in west central Nebraska...
  Western Hooker County in west central Nebraska...

* Until 530 PM MDT.

* At 447 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles northeast
  of Whitman, or 20 miles northwest of Mullen, moving south at 30
  mph.

  HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Whitman, Carr Lake, Hire, Whitman Road crossing the North Branch of
  the Middle Loup River, Pratt Lake, Spring Valley Lake, Hecla, and
  Weir.

This includes Highway 2 between mile markers 155 and 175.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
