...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WESTERN DAKOTA...EASTERN LE
SUEUR...SCOTT AND NORTHWESTERN RICE COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM CDT...

At 513 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Jordan to near Montgomery to 5 miles
southeast of Le Center. Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Faribault, Northfield, Bloomington, Eagan, Burnsville, Lakeville,
Apple Valley, Shakopee, Inver Grove Heights, Savage, Prior Lake, and
Rosemount.

This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 56 and 80.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
