FXUS65 KGGW 030524 AFDGGW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Glasgow MT 1024 PM MST Mon Mar 2 2026 .KEY MESSAGES... - Patchy fog in the northeast zones through Tuesday morning. - Warmer and dry through Wednesday, some precipitation possible thereafter. - Windy conditions this weekend. && .DISCUSSION... WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: Upper ridging continues to build over the area bringing mainly dry and mild to warm temperatures through the week, well above normal for early March. Fog and low clouds, however may drift NW into the CWA by Tuesday morning to bring low visibility to parts of the area. The next system moves in Wednesday night with little fanfare. Mixed precip is expected but there is only a 20 to 40 percent range for >0.05" of precipitation. By Thursday as the ridge flattens and translates east, a more dynamic split flow pattern will emerge over the western CONUS. Ensemble consensus begins to decline at these later time stages, but early signs point to increased chances for mixed precipitation and windy conditions at times. FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: With Tuesday being sunny with good mixing with the downsloping SW flow, blended Max Temp with NBM75 and lowered MinRH by about 5%. This airmass today over north-central Montana produced MinRH about 5-10% lower than progged, so followed through with that thinking. Tuesday winds from 18z till 03z were also blended with NBM90. Increasing confidence in windy conditions this weekend. TFJ && .AVIATION... LAST UPDATE: 0500Z FLIGHT CAT RANGE: VFR but IFR possible 09-14z KSDY. DISCUSSION: Low clouds and fog may drift NW into the area by Tuesday morning. Otherwise, high clouds and light and variable winds can be expected Tuesday. A warm front will force light SW winds Tuesday evening. TFJ && .GGW WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... None. && $$ weather.gov/glasgow
