The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Lake Borgne...
  Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas...
  Mississippi Sound...

* Until 315 AM CDT.

* At 214 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 17 nm north of Lacombe to 15 nm west of Kenner,
  moving east at 35 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Waveland, Lake Pontchartrain/Lake Maurepas, Orleans Marina, Pass
  Christian, Lake Borgne, Mandeville, Eden Isle, Bay St. Louis, Long
  Beach, Rigolets, The Mid Point Of The Causeway Bridge, Kenner, and
  Lacombe.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for southeastern
Louisiana...and southern Mississippi.

Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather
Service.
